This class will cover basic spinning and plying using a handspindle. Several different wool preparations will be available to spin. We will discuss how fiber is prepared for spinning and I will demonstrate handcombing and handcarding wool. Other types of fibers available for spinning will also be discussed.
If you have your own spindle you can bring it, if not a spindle will be provided for use during the class time.
Level: This is a beginning class. No previous experience is needed
Materials Fee: $10 for fiber used during class
Options: Purchase a handspindle for $16.00
Please Bring: Bring your own handspindle if you don't want to buy one.

Please arrive at Class Check-In (at the entrance to the Class Building) at least 10 minutes early to receive your Nametag and find your class area.
Jill Dahle loves all things fiber. She is an avid spinner, weaver, dyer, knitter and quilter. She belongs to the Wastach Woolpack Handspinning Guild and is a past president. She has taught knitting and spinning at Blacksheep Wool and Three Wishes Fiber Arts. She has taught beginning spinning classes at Great Basin Fiber Fair for many years.

Please note: after March 12, 2022, we will refund 50% of the class fee, and after April 9, 2020, refunds are no longer available.
