Plaid Picnic Basket with Connie Denton
You will learn how to weave a basket base, sides, and rim over a market bottom, swing hickory handle. Color and weave effects in basketry will be explored, using reed dyed in natural dye products. Make a 12" x 12" x 12" basket with a 18" high swing hickory handle. You can weave with a demonstrated plaid pattern, or make up your own plaid pattern. Several baskets will be available for inspiration. The basket is finished with a double lashed, flat oval rim.
This class is open to beginners and those familar with the process.

Saturday May 11 from 9am-noon AND 2pm-5pm
Please arrive at Class Check-In (at the entrance to the Class Building) at least 10 minutes early to receive your Nametag and find your class area.

Please bring: Sharp, strong scissors, an awl or small flat-headed screwdriver, 2 plastic hand basins or buckets (one for natural and one for dyed reed), an old towel, a squirt bottle.
The Materials Fee for this class is $25.00 and includes a hickory swing handle, dyed and natural reed, all rim components.
A minimum of 4 students must register for this class to be held.
