Students will primarily explore water soluble resist using the serti method of silk painting. The artists will learn to transfer a design onto silk, apply resist lines, and experiment with a number of silk painting techniques. You will go home with your scarf to iron set and hand wash.
This is a beginning class. No previous experience is needed.
Class will be held in Building 1 (Classroom Building)
Classroom area - Kitchen
Friday May 8 starting at 9am with a lunch break - this is an all day, 6-hour class
Please arrive at Class Check-In (at the entrance to the Class Building) at least 10 minutes early to receive your Nametag and find your class area.
Please bring: your creativity and enthusiasm. If you want to provide your own design, sketch in bold lines the design to the actual scarf size (11"x60").
The Materials Fee for this class is $40.00 which includes silk, frame to use while painting, resist, paint, brushes, design ideas, pencils, water cups, salt, applicator and tips.
