No More Long Floats: Dive Into Ladderback Jacquard with Jana Strahan (Fri AM)
In this workshop, you will learn how to eliminate long floats in your colorwork using the ladderback jacquard technique, resulting in smoother, more even work. You will understand when to apply the ladderback jacquard technique in knitted designs. We will simplify the process by breaking down the steps, making it easy to incorporate into your patterns.
 
Level: Intermediate: Student should have some experience with fundamental such as increasing, decreasing, pattern reading
Ages: Suitable for age 12+ if accompanied by an adult taking the class

To Do BEFORE Class:  https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/love-the-winter-hat. Students need to knit the brim ribbing and the solid rounds of Color A of this free hat pattern before coming to class. We will begin knitting the chart together in class. Students should bring a paper copy of the pattern to class. It is helpful for students to bring a phone or tablet to be able to log into Zoom for a close up view of my demonstrations.

  • Instructor Bio

    I live in rural SE Wyoming with my husband of 36 years, five cats, the best dog ever, and a few chickens and goats. I host the Purl Together YouTube channel with nearly 70k subscribers. In 2022, Purl Together received the Knitting Circle's Best Vlog/YouTube Channel Award. 

    I enjoy teaching knitting and am deeply committed to my students' experience. When not knitting, I can be found exploring the wilderness on backpacking trips.

    Please note: Full refunds are available until February 28, 2026. After February 28th, we will refund 50% of the class fee, and after March 31st, 2026, refunds are no longer available, unless you can find someone to take the class in your place.
