Learn to make a basket from long leaf pine needles, using waxed Irish waxed linen, an assortment of beads or other embellishments, and starting with a stone center. Topics to be covered include how to make your stitches stack up on one another, types of pine needles you can use, pine needle preparation, different types of basket centers, embellishing your basket, and how to to start and finish your basket.
Level: Beginner
Ages: Suitable for children ages 12 and older with an adult also taking the class.
Materials Fee (included in class cost): $20 includes stone cabochon, pine needles, Irish waxed linen.
Options: none
Please Bring: Small, sharp scissors. An old towel for keeping needles moistened.

Instructor Bio
For more than 25 years Connie has been making baskets and teaching this craft to others. In addition to traditional and pine needle basketmaking, Connie is also interested and active in weaving, natural dyeing, and punch needle rugmaking.
